Cavite: Corregidor Island

My plan to go to Corregidor actually began in the ancient times many many years ago before the actual trip. It was too expensive so I was really happy seeing what the Island looks like on the internet rather than dreaming of setting foot there. One day, when I was browsing in the internet, I saw one of the best thing in my life it is not about Mayweather decided to fight pacquiao or the Philippines already rank number one in military strength but the opportunity of going to Corregidor in a very cheap way. The ad said it will only cost me 799 pesos including the buffet lunch and ferry transfer they called it Photographer's promo!! Yes, I am a photographer and I am proud of it and that gave me the reason to visit Corregidor in a cheap price. yes, everyone is welcome on this promo because everyone can pretend to be a photographer even you only have digital camera instead of SLR because it did not say any specific rules. Upon knowing the promo that time I already called SunCruise the one who manage the tour and promo and there was only one slot available maybe they really waited for me to join.

Anyway, lets go back to our lesson Corregidor Island is situated in the entrance of Manila Bay in Southwesetern part of Luzon yes! you can visit Corregidor by boat via port in the back of PICC anyway the regular tour cost 2200 depends on the inclusion but I was lucky enough to avail the photographers promo that only cost 799.
I went to PICC port via taxi from the office I went undertime for 30 minutes just to join in the tour.
PICC Hrbour
Upon arriving in the port the staff placed a nametag on my chest to indicate that I was part of the promo I feel ashame but thats okay atleast I had a chance to go to Corregidor Island

inside the ferrycraft

Bye Manila for a while
I boarded in their fastcraft that took me around an hour to arrive, it has a mini-store inside and a television and it shows the different tourism in the Philippines and the history of Corregidor Island, the craft were filled with different nationalities and they were mostly foreigners from different country. I always feel proud when I see a foreigner visiting attractions here in the Philippines.
We reached the Island around 10 in the morning the tourist who avail regular daytrip were separated from the ones who availed photographers promo yes! I was right I saw somebody who had a digicam or even an Iphone instead of SLR, genius folks.
Tourist were so excited for the tour.
The mini-bus that looks like a train or whatever

We hopped in L300 vehicle instead of a car that looked like a mini-train where the regular daytour tourist were in. Our first stop was in Malinta Tunnel this is the place where soldiers were hiding and played Angry Birds or Temple run. anyway, there was nothing to see in this Tunnel only old japanese equipments.

It was really hard to travel to a place where you had been waiting to visit alone. because there was no one was there to take a picture I had no choice but to befriend the teens that I met in Corregidor who availed the same promo.

Do you believe that someone from a photographers promo took this shot?? thats what I am talking about

Corregidor is an Island which I thought to be a part of Bataan province, okay kids! do not try to act like you are a genius! Corregidor is a part of Cavite not Bataan, let me repeat part of Cavite NOT Bataan, because of this information I was forced to visit Balanga and Pilar in Bataan just to complete my goal to visit each provinces in the Philippines.

another Barracks not far from the Middleside it was used to be a hospital until it became like a skeleton building because of the heavy bombing by the Japanese folks.

Monuments dedicated to our Heroes

A building used to be a Theatrical Center

My pleasure to visit this war place area

If you visit Corregidor Island you will feel what happened in the past you will imagine how it was bombed by the Japanese and how our fellow patriot fought for our freedom, you will see different ruins of buildings and establishment and there are parts that you can see weapons used in the war.
We visited the Museum of Pacific War Memorial where different Equipments, Weapons and Memorabilias of the last World War has been displayed. Camera is allowed just turn off the flash.

Visit this museum it will give you an idea about the history of Corregidor

It was really really hot that time

This Barkada who I later became my friend until today

say Cheeeeese!! not zzzzz
We did a short Trek going to the top to visit the Corregidor Lighthouse and the souvenir shop, I thanked my tripod who became my cane and resting place where I put my bag if I needed to rest.

Corregidor Lighthouse

I bought some keychains in the souvenir shop in Corregidor they sell different items like furniture for display, shirts, keychains and more for a very reasonable price. I bought my keychain for 50 pesos each.

I had been waiting for this part of the tour. The Buffet Lunch yahoo!! we were so hungry walking around the Island of Corregidor, Obviously we needed something to refresh ourselves, We hopped again in L300 van going to the only hotel in Corregidor the La Playa a spanish word means the beach they served different kinds of food including veggie, Paella and some foods that only Kris Aquino will know. We were welcomed by a welcome drink of course and it was clear in the picture. One round only not two rounds so if you accidentally drop the water on the floor? sorry,  proceed to the water area.

Clear?? One round only
look so delicious

Find the difference

It makes me feel hungry everytime I see this picture.

La Playa Hotel
After the mouth-watering buffet experience in La Playa Hotel we proceed to the Lobby Area where my new friends took some pictures with us in all the angle that they know in their life. they even ask the receptionist, guard and maintenance crew to take a picture of us for the complete barkadas including me, so feeling!! anyway I could not post this picture here since they used their Camera to take a shot.
